Outdoor Garden Show.png

Summer is the perfect time to show off your garden! Do you grow heirloom tomatoes or bushels of cucumbers? What about sweet corn, green beans, carrots or zucchini? Do you have an herb garden or berry bushes? If you have fruit trees, let’s see them! Maybe your outdoor garden is all about flowers…lavender, roses, sunflowers or other beauties.

Let’s see what your hard work and green thumb produces!

The Outdoor Garden Show is a judged photo contest.

If entries warrant, we will split the contest into three categories - harvest, garden, & flower, with prizes for each category. For examples, see last year's winners below.

Prizes - At least three 3-month PFMs!

To increase your chances of winning, please read the rules before entering.
.
Rules:
  1. Four entries per member. One entry per post, please.
  2. An entry is *one* picture of your garden, a plant in your garden, or your garden's harvest.
  3. Include a brief description of your entry.
  4. Images that have been resized might be disqualified if they are too small to judge.
  5. No screenshots, watermarks, date stamps, text, etc., on the photo. No collages.
  6. The photo needs to have been taken by you.
  7. You cannot use a photo that won an award in another BYC-sponsored contest.
  8. High-quality images are recommended. Basic editing, such as cropping and other subtle changes, are allowed.
  9. ALL photos MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
  10. Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.
  11. All BYC rules apply: Terms of Service (Rules)
  12. Entries will be accepted until August 25th, 2024, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.

This is Golden Moss, its meant to be planted as a border plant, grows like a carpet. It started out the size of a quarter 3 months ago, its now in a 5" pot. I am going to try and bring it inside this winter, but it won't stop growing! :barnie 🤣

Medusa head succulent. Most people plant these in cactus gardens outside. It started out this spring 8" across, its now 16" across, its flowering. Its a monster, I am going to try and winter it over outside this winter.

My favorite flowers are daisies. Over the years, I'd plant them, and they'd freeze out, though they grow wild in the fields. A few years ago I stole some seeds from in the ditch. This is them this morning. It's a section of our property that's wildflowers and fruit trees.

I'm just so happy to see these in there now!
