Oh most definitely!! My rooster is the sweetest rooster I have EVER had! And the hens are docile and good egg layers! If you were nearby I have a pair of male and female Buckeyes that I am wantin' to sell so that more people can breed them. They are becoming a pretty rare breed surprisingly. Hardly any meet the SOP anymore.

Most Buckeyes nowadays don't have the eye color my rooster has because the color is beginning to fade as more people breed them.

That’s very encouraging. I think they’d do well in the Vermont winter. Speaking of which...

Bit of a hike… I’m going to school in Irving this fall, but in my mind chickens and airplanes don’t mix. :[]
Also, I’m not set up, nor do I have the knowledge, (yet) to have a breeding program.
If it weren’t for all that I’d love to buy them. Ah, someday….

This might be a really stupid question but…can we enter young (10 weeks) chickens? Or do they need to be fully developed for the most part?
