Those kids are snickering & laughing over there now, but they won't be laughing when I tell their mothers about their Fowl play & how they Egged the nestbox! Those brats...it's not even mischief night yet.

What is really happening
Good question, I don't even know! My Black Orpington mix hen, Mumble, was being broody this summer, even though we collected the eggs every day and she was mostly sitting on nothing. She had her broody way of dipping her chest in the pool in order to come back to her eggs and then sit on them with the water on her chest (I assume for humidity). One day, I went outside and thought there was something wrong with Mumble, because I saw something on her chest. I walked closer, and it was an egg. Every hen was trying to get to it, and eventually she hopped up on the back of the chair and started eating it herself. I assume it got stuck there because of the water she put on her chest!
