DOOOOOOO IIIIIIIIIIT! :lau

I haven't regretted it yet, just make sure you get a breed that is good for you. Mine are Pilgrim.
Oh if I had a pond here I would!

My neighbours up the road have a splendid pond but they don’t let their geese on it. Every year for 30+ years the Canada Geese are there, 2 pairs that raise up their young and then fly south (or maybe just to T.O. Haha).

It were me I’d get rid of the Canada geese! Let my geese on the pond. It’s a huge worry to me with Avian Flu during migration time. But seems no other flocks land there, likely their dogs keep the transient geese away, the resident geese know the dogs are contained.

But I would rather no wild geese were there.

We have had cormorants there also - what’s that strange looking goose?! Hahaha. Messier than geese those suckers!

I have another neighbour further up who has the MOST amazing goose! It must be 4’ tall and is just gorgeous! The guy was out herding a bunch of them up to roadway one day - guess they got loose. And there was that one huge gorgeous goose. 😊

There’s a story with the Blu-Kote spray- seems my Young hens like to over groom him, and cause his new blood feathers to bleed, of course then it’s a feeding frenzy when all that blood shows up on his light feathers!

So he gets a spray of purple and is now kept away from them.

The chicks think it’s great fun to try and grab that one remaining tail feather 😆 good thing he’s a good Roo!
