Ended Official BYC Contest—Post Your Best (Worst) Chicken Molt Pictures—Fall/Winter 2015

Wow, these molts just look painful. It would be fun to see a "during molt" picture (like these) and an "after molt" so we can see how gorgeous these birds really are.

LOL! What fun! I knew it was a good idea to take out the camera! Normally-handsome, 5 year-old, free-range Rhode Island Red Peter was so humiliated to have his picture taken when he looked like he was ready for the soup pot! He is looking much more comely now, but this was taken on 6-20-15:

 
Here's another one of my girls, Sparrow. These were taken last week:





I love how their new feathers resemble paint brushes for the first few days! They always look so pretty and fresh after going through a molt. I always forget that they also go into "seclusion" for the last 2 serious weeks of their molt! Several of my ducks are doing this feather thing right now, too, lol. I will try and get a picture of them...
