Here’s my little mounting chick Frankie no Feathers. Taken 9-19-18.

I’m honestly a bit excited for the moult. Our chickens are a little over a year old and for some reason a 3 of them have bald behinds. I’m looking forward to them (hopefully!) having butt feathers again!

Goldie went into a hard molt right after getting a hormone implant. This was her first real molt at 2 1/2 years old. Even though she went totally bald this is my favorite pic of her with those funny looking tail feathers.

I went out to my coop this morning and it looked like a chicken exploded! Feathers everywhere! The molting has begun! :lau

My molting baby
This looks more like damage from an overzealous rooster. I have many hens with bare backs from young overzealous roosters. Be sure to take the sharp points off the rooster's spurs or your hens will have tears in their skin that other chickens will peck at and turn into horrible sores.
