Tyson is everywhere and has a lot of political sway. I try to fly under the radar as much as possible.
I try to keep between 40 and 100 birds each year going into fall.. It just depends on events.
Coyotes really wiped me out in the last 10 months. I currently only have 13 laying age hens and 5 roosters of which I'm only keeping 3 and one hen is broody. At least 6 of them aren't laying dark enough eggs to keep so I'm about to build 6 more breeding units so I can identify light layers (both shell color and malingerers).
