None of the many snakes that I saw ever bothered me. It was only the ones that I played with that bit me.That's amazing!
I can't believer I've never been bitten by any snake after pushing 7 decades in fields, woods, swamps, rivers and lakes in the Ozark and Ouachita mountains as well as Louisiana,, the Carolinas,. Mexico and Costa Rica. I've seen a lot of snakes so maybe I've just been lucky. I've yet to see a venomous snake at my current house but this time of year, I see non-venomous snakes almost daily. I don't mess with them and they don't mess with me. We had our fair share of cottonmouths, rattlesnakes and copperheads at our farm but the dogs took the brunt of it for me.
