When I used to teach astronomy labs, I got so good at telling the time - day or night - by the analemma or celestial map in the sky that I was accurate to within 3 minutes at my peak of teaching those labs. It was awsome fun!

Now days.... Almost 20 years later.... Via the sun it's still within 10-15 minutes accuracy on a good day.
