Are you using a flash? What color is he? Some birds are hard to get clear pictures of because of their color. A solid background, or even a white poster board to direct light might help you get a clearer picture.

I don’t use flash no, he’s a blue silkie, so mostly grey with bits of white around his neck.

Hmm if I can catch him sometime I’ll try that but he usually freezes up when I get near him, didn’t socialize with him enough while he was little and now I gotta be careful not to make him agressive
