I've never had a broody hen hatch chicks. But my grandma's hens were always hatching. Here are my two favorites from her farm



I love this last one because the bantam mom (middle) was raising all standard chicks. At this age they were the same size as her but still wanted to cuddle!
Unfortunately, the farm where I fell in love with chickens is being sold. I thought by posting these two pics would be a great remembrance of the place.

From the looks of that jacket, she is somebody else's favorite too
