Oh, I have this issue too with some of my birds! It makes it really difficult to get good pictures of a bird, especially when you have a bigger lens on. The other day I tried getting good pictures of my new rooster, but he wanted to be so close. I tried running way ahead of him to get a full body picture and I looked back just to see him running right behind me.
