Ended Official BYC Mini-Contest - What’s Your Hobby

Not an entry-

When I'm not quilting or sewing for clients and friends, and I'm not feeding the chickens....I like to make fun things as gifts. I'm happiest when I am puttering on my longarm sewing machine such as this pair of wall quilts called "Stitch Happens." Trying new things also interest me and I recently started making egg aprons.

SNAPPY! WHAT DO YOU CALL THAT STITCHING YOU DO OVER THE TOP OMG ITS SO GORGEOUS.

sorry I’m yelling. BUT DANG.

Yes, small stitches (and yarn) for everyday socks, usually 60-70 stitches per round.

I actually knit them two at a time using a long cable needle (magic loop). I haven’t knit any socks this summer, but somewhere around a month. Depends what all is going on and how many nights I actually knit.
I was going to ask if you used loop needles or 3 to 4 short separate needles. At a farm meeting several years back, I sat next to a woman who was knitting socks on 3 (maybe it was 4) short needles all while paying attention to the meeting and asking questions. I was dumbfounded but in awe at the same time!!

QUILTING!! And THANK YOU!!
For reals, we call it "the quilting design" as opposed to "making the quilt" (assembling the fabric into a fabric design) Quilting designs in thread come in any pattern you could possibly imagine! (That's my day job...quilting other people's quilts)
The leafy part on the left, middle, and top is some leafy design I saw (technical term!) and the rest is free motion, or improv if you will.

I like to lay down some heavy thread sometimes, which can really change the dynamics of a project.

It’s surprisingly easy. The hardest part is the first dozen rounds, trying to keep everything from getting twisted. After that, it’s repetition and can get boring depending on your pattern.

I love the name of the pair of wall quilts!
Thank you! 💕

Easy she says...😮
I've tried knitting and I can twist things up terribly on 2 plain long straight needles! I can crochet, and I like using sock yarn in that, but the idea of trying to knit socks gives me the heebiejeebies! Hats off to you for thinking it's boring!

Hey, I wonder.....were you the person I was sitting next to in that meeting?? 😁

#1. Knitting.
about two years ago I taught myself how to knit with the help of YouTube. My favourite thing is socks (since I love wearing them) but have also made all sorts of things including touques, sweaters and even a pair of pants.

I need these socks in my life. I need them. Lol

My husband got me my first DSLR camera this time last year. I was so excited! I’ve always wanted a camera that had different lenses and that I could learn how to use manually.
Its my escape time. When I’m getting overly frustrated or stressed I like to just take a break and go snap some pictures. Animals and bugs are often my subjects.
I’m still so new to it all and love learning as much as I can.
This is an Asian bettle I found hibernating in the house.
