Ended Official BYC Mini Contest - What is Your Hobby?

Pics
Hobby #1—artwork.
I've done some work with many different mediums, such as oil, acrylic, and watercolour paints, oil and chalk pastel, charcoal, sculpting, and printmaking, but my favourite would have to be the simple graphite pencil. Lately I've been rather lax (all of these images are over a year old, some significantly more than that) but once my free time clears up a bit I intend to return to it fully.

You very talented Banty :thumbsup

That's wonderful!! Just curious if anyone knows of a way to see BYC members by location? It would be nice to meet some who live close-by.
You can put your location in your settings and have it public. But that isn't such a good idea as there may be some trolls/lurkers who will cause problems for you.

I thought of a couple hobbies I have. First, I'm a new aquarium keeper. I got a 45 gallon as a graduation gift this summer. I researched how to cycle the fish tank and planned how to stock it. I planted and decorated it. Plus I get to play scientist when I check the water chemistry. I love watching the fish.

Hobby #2: Foraging/wildcrafting
I cherish the time I am able to spend outside, foraging for wild mushrooms and plants that are useful either medicinally or for food. I don't have many pictures of this hobby.
I do actually use some foraged plants and mushrooms in my cooking, so I guess you could say that I save some money, but I haven't earned money doing it.
I keep learning as I go, though not at all an expert. 20190717_155313.jpg Photo-0031.jpg 20180831_150635.jpg IMG_20160918_121953975.jpg

ENTRY #3 - BAKING

There is a book called The 5 Love Languages. These "love languages" include words of affirmation, acts of service, gifts, quality time, and physical touch. I've often kidded my family and said that baking was my love language since I love to bake for a crowd or bake and give away.

Most of the time there is a homemade dessert in the house. My husband - and all the rest of the family - has a sweet tooth, and if there's no dessert around, he'll eat the chocolate chips out of the bag! At this time of year (December), I bake a lot of cookies. I started baking Christmas cookies with my kids when they were just old enough to make a mess of it, but have fun. Now my daughters are expert decorators and help clean our messes. ;)

And here is a cookie puzzle. I used to make these for preschool and elementary school children:

When it's not Christmas cookies season, I love to experiment and bake various cakes or tortes. If you're not tires of pictures, here are a few of my creations:
