Just a few I thought Banty could be a study for.......

Now a serious one could be " raising a mixed flock"..... I came up with this while counting the birds leaving my layer coop to free range. BTW When I got to 85 birds, I figured I could be addicted and need some help. I have Guineas, Turkeys and Chickens in the same coop.


I would try one myself but I am far too busy getting ready for winter.

Not really. I had geese, it was an ugly scene. I bought them for 9 dollars each as babies and sold them for 5 each as adults. It was a bargain, had I kept them one more day I would have been paying for a divorce. She hated them worse than I did....

I figure I made money selling at that price because of the feed waste I saved. They refused to believe they were geese and were not allowed in the "mixed flock" coop. Do you know a goose can ruin the water in a waterer in 4 seconds flat? Also they can lift 500 pounds with their necks, the just shoved them under a fence and ripped it from the ground.... I hate geese.. Now you went and got my blood pressure up, I better call my doc... He hates waterfowls too...

I am trying to talk him into turkeys...

Dig a pond? Did you not see the part where I said I live in a sand dunes? I would need to dig 200 ft to get a pond

I'm thinking a good topic would be: "What Mafia Have Your Guineas Chosen - Italian, Irish, Chinese....."

Or the average life expectancy of a Gang Guinea versus a normal bird. ( I was going to say non-gang Guinea but that would be like saying Sasquatch is Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny)

We've got 23 entries now. I noticed this contest started nearly 3 years ago now, so I'm going to set a deadline for a week from now, if anyone wants to enter still. It's time we wrap this up I reckon.

It's been a week, now. Is the contest closed now? If so when will the winners be announced?
