Turkeys aren't just for Thanksgiving—they’re full of personality, charm, and surprise! Whether they're strutting their stuff, gobbling at random sounds, or simply ruling the roost with their majestic presence, turkeys bring something totally unique to the backyard flock.

So tell us: What’s your absolute favorite thing about raising turkeys? Pick the one or more that make you smile most—and feel free to share your turkey tales in the comments!

Whether you raise one tom or a whole gang of gobblers, turkeys have a way of stealing the spotlight—and sometimes your heart (and garden snacks). Thanks for voting, and be sure to share your best turkey stories, tips, or even turkey fails. We’re all ears... and tail feathers!

My favorite part is the ground turkey 😃

Edit to add: sorry if it comes off as brazen. But it truly is my favorite part. I do it all for the ground turkey every year. They are incredible creatures though!

I do not have turkey, but I do have a male bush turkey visits my garden here and there. He is very handsome and I love hangout at the park near my home because there are many of the bush turkey lives there, except I have never seen a female, where is she?

USED to have turkeys,, one drowned itself it its own water bowl and the rest followed that ones example.. never again, but they were nice to have !
That is very strange...drowned itself and followed by the rest of the flock. Do you ever find out why?

I’ve never had one drown. Are you sure that’s what happened? they are too smart to see one drown and then all also drown, because that one did.

Here, the wild hens are only with the wild toms during spring breeding season. After mating they make hidden nests as much to hide the eggs from the predators as to hide them from the toms.

no, I figured the turkey did it by accident, the others saw, and like chickens they followed suit. I guess i got the bad batch of turkeys.. :(
