Poultry almosty never actually drown. They do get wet and cold and die from hypothermia.I had cameras on them, and that is exactly what they did

You know whether or not they were poults or adults.Dont know the age, they were hand-me-downs from the previous owners of my house. They drink from a small water trough, not fully filled, but enough to which they could get a good amount of water daily
It doesn't take much to cause hypothermia in young poults no matter what the time of year.It was in the middle of the summer, I wouldn't think it'd be hypothermia
That must be it. I will make note to see what the season that I go there to work out nesting time hence I do not see the turkey ladiesHere, the wild hens are only with the wild toms during spring breeding season. After mating they make hidden nests as much to hide the eggs from the predators as to hide them from the toms.

We are in spring season now so I will not see the girl turkey, they are most likely getting ready with nesting for upcoming chicks. I often go to that park and only see the male turkey so far.It will be in your spring.
