10 foot high hoop coop I built for the guineas. Now I put in a divider and it houses 2 flocks of polish.

Duplex coop holds more polish.

Kids playhouses adapted for bantams.

We got our first coop and run from Coops for a Cause here in NH. Part of cost goes to charity. We did however, do a lot of our own 'tricking out', painting it inside and out, putting in different nest boxes and perch, and we leaded the windows to blend with our 250 year old house. We also added onto the run, and did a few more things like adding a punched tin lantern to the outside---The coop has electricity---and all different period style iron hinges.

A few years late we decided to get a goose and 2 ducks. We decided to build a house for them from scratch. We had NEVER built any kind of building before. We had no plans, no kit, no help, and we have sad, old, minimal tools. We drew a sketch on an envelope! We are SO proud of 'my little goose coop'!! Here are a few photos.

We put sheet vinyl remnant on the floor for easy cleaning. Great piece for $12.

We ran an electric line underground ourselves so the coop has electricity.

We painted inside and out and it stays very clean. Hubby made removable custom 'predator screens' in addition to regular for extra protection. I built the batten door from scratch. Our goose is a music-lover so we built a shelf and got her a radio/cassette player for Christmas!

I have 3 coops at home (2 are stacked on top of each other) and i helped a friend build one. I designed all of mine and "consulted" my friend with his. My adult free ranging flock coop is 75% salvaged materials and the 2 stacked coops are 90% from salvaged materials (everything but the shingled roof)
Mine are all built with a minimal budget, maximum functionality, security and stability in mind.

i live in oregon in the valley. i have 3 cats and a dog. which predators are you thinking of? i’ve had raccoon and opossum visit..but not for long. so far, every predator has died of lead poisoning.

I have 0% carpentry skills but we converted a tarp covered 12 by 25 shelter we used for hay storage into a run by covering it in chicken wire connected with metal zip ties on the north open end we have corrugated tin as a wall on the other open end my sister built a giant 7 foot high gate and their coop is made from their first run which was 6by8 just slapped some thin plywood on it to make walls the run is covered by varying sizes of tarps depending on summer or winter its not fancy but the chickens love it and I saved a lot of money by reusing lots of materials here is some pictures

I love the design! And I like the idea of keeping the coop/run small and having a mobile pen for them to help with yard work. Do you have the name of the Coop or the website you got the design from?

Is that cat "guarding" your girls? LOL

The part-time chicken who comes over to our house every morning from next door to leave an egg for us (see picture) just struts by our cat. (We have 2 Macaws and 2 African Grey parrots in the house, Tucker has learned to live with them.

My husband found the coop design somewhere and no longer remembers. Sorry. Since this post we have added on a larger run. I think it’s great that your neighbor’s chicken is providing you with eggs!

I don't have chickens (MAYBE this year, haven't decided 100% yet.) But I converted my old stallions 12x12 stall into a turkey coop. I also used part of the existing run fence (hog panels welded to angle iron.) covered with some 6 foot tall chain link fencing I had. Other side of run is heavy duty home made dog kennel panels made from VERY HD welded wire. Covered most of the run with small hole used chicken wire. Only thing I bought was one roll of new large hole chicken wire to finish the run roof. And I used some old signs make out of plywood for "wind breaks" on parts of the fence.

My flock currently is using a kit built coop and a Camilla tree. We are in the process of converting a 2 horse loading shed and turnout for their permanent home. The kit coop will then get used for chicks or a hospital pen.
