For anyone who has issues keeping dust baths bone dry in a rainy/semi-snowy environment, I highly recommend The Turtle.

I have the same set up for my chicks. My husband is glad to see someone use it again (kids are 14&20)

My hens are too lazy to dig an area so they just roll around on the ground whilst the other picks dirt off their feathers

Besides all the places I provide they seem to be pretty ingenious and come up with some interesting spots under saw palmettos or in an old fire pile that’s been cooling for many days. I wish I could figure out how to post video I have one hysterical one in an old fire pile with the end being a big “POOF” always the white ones in the grey ashes too

My layer flock dust baths ok the garden, my walkways, in their coop, and even got out of they coop by dust bathing. My show birds don’t get to dust bath unless I give them their tub of sand. It do it often but I can’t let them do out close to show.
