I dont have any hens left at this time. We had a dog get in and get most of them. I have 4 roosters tho... Hopefully by spring I will have some laying hens tho. And yes, I will be happy to swap, if all goes as planned.

Q is a hard one! Yes, "Quiet" is a good one, as we will have a very quiet Christmas this year at my house; don't worry there have been plenty of noisy ones.

May I move on to "R":

Rudolph (that's an easy one)

and here are some for "S":

Sugar Plum (as the song goes, dancing in my head)
Santa Baby (a modern Christmas movie)
Santa Baby 2 (the sequel to the movie, just in case you keep 2 roos from your hatch)
Snowball
Snowflake

Well, you've managed to get me totally confused (not that it's really that hard). I started my bator the late afternoon of the 3rd. If you started yours that night, wouldn't that push you back a day and you would lock down on Tuesday?

As far as touching the incubator after lock down, just pretend I am there too, slapping your hands if they get too close!

I, too, set my eggs late Dec 3. Soooo, Dec 4 is day 1.
Lockdown is Dec 21. Hatch due date is Dec 24.

Hope that helps.

It sure does. I'll lock-er-down when I get home from work tommarow. Thanks!

Genius! Necessity is the mother of invention, so they say! Great idea! Did you heat them up before you put them in?

Good luck!

I set them in a carton next to the heater till they were warm to the touch. It did the trick! Last night my temp stayed put. Whew!
