Official Christmas Hatch! c'mon and join

Ok all you chicken-lovers.

Here's a question for you to ponder as you sit and bite your nails and stare into your 'bators lookin' for those pips....

Is a 'clear' egg one that is infertile, or a fertile egg that never developed, or ....both,or...either.....or ...neither? Just something I was pondering while in the shower.

WHAT!

What are you snickering at?

What do YOU think about in the shower?

I would of been freaking out too!
I'm sorry but as others say it's alearning process. I have never incubated before don't they use flashlights or candeling for this?

I did us a candler, but could see no movement whatsoever and the air sac look weird. I am telling myself that the poor thing would not have made it anyway. But oh my... the blood. When I cracked it open, i gave it a placental abruption . I think it bled out was the official cause of death...

kathyinmo: What beautiful Marans chickies! Enjoyed the pictures. Delawares next!!!

bjharrington1550: Didn't have time to bite my nails, but just got back from leaving our business to check on the temp & humidity at home; all is well. Just how "clear" is "clear"? I'd say if the yoke & egg white part is translucent with no dark mass showing growth, then it's infertile. Or wait, ok funny guy, was yours a trick question? I'll have to think about it in the shower tonight.

Congrats to all the new chickie mommas. I can't wait for mine to hatch. I went into Lock Down today when I got home from work. I've got a total of 24 that look promising. I'm hoping I can send a chick Christmas card via e-mail to everyone on Christmas morning.
