"Official" S. Indiana Chickenstock Meeting INFO JUNE 7

Hi Guys!! I am new to this site and saw you are having a little get together. I sure would like to come if you'll have me. I got plenty of chicken stuff for the raffle and I'm a pretty good cook. I live in Petersburg (it's bout 30-45 min north east of evansville) I'm not sure how close that is to where the gathering takes place.

Jeff and Mindy,
Welcome to the website....If Im guess right your about maybe an hour out from the meeting location. I can usually make the trip over to Evansville in about 1.5 hrs. Hope to see you there!

THIS is going to be FUN!!

Ok, HOW do you keep your chicken yard clean and covered in grass, eh? Mine looks like a ghetto. I plead overcrowding tho. Stupid late stupid gubmint check was supposed to be gettin gme a new coop. :p

I'm totally doing a happy dance Deb

I LOVE those babies. They're gorgeous.

The run has just been set up, I have been letting them free range in the yard for about 5 months but they have a problem of going next door and playing in the mulch so it was time for them to be put up....The run is 40x50 so it does give them some room to wander in. Im sure in about 2-3 months it will be nothing but DIRT but for now ill take the grass while its there.

I have a golden seabright ROO,a pair of OE, that are about 6 wks old. Also some of my younger chicks that were born on mother's day. Sounds like there is gonna be some cool stuff. I have 3 barred rocks that are mean so I dont really want to give them to any of you unless you can keep them separate from other birds. They are peckers. They are pullets about 6 weeks old. Let me know if anyone wants them otherwise they are going to get auctioned. I am also bringing a beautiful gold cuckoo marans roo about 9weeks. The little chicks I am bringin 1 or 2 redxdominiques. some black silkiexold english and a couple NHR x old english and aBR x old english. They are so cute and sweet but i have to get rid of some to make room for new ones. I really want a phoenix!! I am gonna get myself in trouble and come home with more birds than I bring. haha. I want that frizzle too. I WANT IT ALL! LOL

Brian,

I just ran across the comment about the pup. Just be thankful that you got it at a discount. You were going home with that dog one way or another. April was soooooo happy! It was worth it and you know it. Think how miserable life would have been without that pup.

And the run looks great! You did a wonderful job.

Too bad you missed Lucasville. Rows and rows and rows of sale cages! I can't believe I only had eleven dollars, but luckily they have an atm on the grounds!

How well do the phoenix and the polish/faverolle roo get along with other chickens? What about banties? My oldest group of birds is a cornish x,2 rosecombs, bantam cochin, RIR and 2 BR. I am gonna be like a kid in a candy store down there!!! I can't wait. What is a good way to transport the birds on an hour and a half car ride? Any tips?
