"Official" S. Indiana Chickenstock Meeting INFO JUNE 7

Matt,

I am so sorry to hear about the damage to your poultry yard and the loss of chickens. I am about 20 miles outside of Terre Haute -- we got a lot of rain but not as bad as Columbus. Luckily my chickens got on their roost when their brooder box got wet. They are now outside in a make-shift pen located in my pole barn.

Let me know if there is anything we can do to help.

Deb

Thanks everyone for the calls and emails. Right after I sent that email about the flooding on Saturday, we lost internet, phone and cable, so I haven't been able to get back on until now. At this point, I'm just picking up dead birds and trying to get the houses back upright.
Here are some pics

The ducks made it!

After the flood:

The top of this brooder is all that was visible. You can see by the debris on the window screen how high the water was. This house is 6 feet tall.

So much for the fence we put up 2 weeks ago

We had a great time at the meet! But we came home with more chickens that we brought.
One had a run in with our Lhasa Apso. But looks like he will be fine.
Annie is disconnected for a while, so I extend her thanks as well. My cousin Sarah is thought she was in another country but loved her day with you all.

Matt so sorry for your flood damage. I had no idea it was raining up north, till we got home.

Thanks again to everyone who donated their home and food and prizes.

Matt,
I am so sorry about your flood situation. If you need any thing just holler, I am not to far away. Thanks for bring all the stuff. I love the new books.
We saw you on the interstate. It took for ever to go those 3 miles. We went to the chickenstock up north on Sunday and we were supposed to get there at 7:30, but thanks to the water we had to go around and didn't get there untill 12:00 A.M. It took for ever. Keep us updated with the clean up and everything. Watch out for Rain today too.

Oh Matt, I am so sorry to see all that damage. If there is something we can do to help, just hollar. When you are in the market for new chickens...let me know, I am sure I have a few I can donate to a good cause. My heart goes out to you...I just cant imagine the heartbreak. :aww
