Official Seed Exchange/swap Thread ***SIGN UP CLOSED***

Last but not least, seeds have arrived from Kassaundra - I will be reporting back (hopefully this evening) on who won the most interesting seed prize...from the peanut gallery, already, I think I have the inside scoop.

OK, everyone - I will get into getting all these ready to go out, and because of the delay from the hurricane and power outage, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can these back out in the mail by Thursday.

Bringing up the rear!

Glad they made it.

OK...as I suspected, we have a winner for most interesting seed or strangest, or what ever you want to call it....I will NOT divulge the seed, but Kassaundra, you are the winner!!! Your judges were 3 of my children ranging in age from 10-22. at first, they thought THEY were going to win, lol. Actually, they do because they get to reap there rewards of this little experiment, as we all will.

Everyone will be notified as to what this seed is when they receive their packets in the mail!

I am going to get busy to get everything ready for you all.

I have all the seeds sorted and they are in their respective to-go envelopes.

Quick question...if you sent in a certain type of seed and someone else sent it in, as well..do you want "it" back? I can send you an additional seed back from my own stash.

I will let you know who you are so you have the option of saying yes or no.

Dena - one of the seeds you sent in the okra bag was also sent in by another - those back or a different surprise seed?

Dawn - the 'citrus' type of seed (wink-wink) was sent in by someone else, as well - those back or a different surprise seed?

Claira - the edible variety you sent was also sent in by another - those back or a different surprise seed?

Carol - one of the edible varieties you sent was also sent in by another - those back or a different surprise seed?

Also, some of the seeds were really little - and I mean little, I think I counted and divided as well as possible under those strenuous circumstances. All I can say is THANK YOU to Dawn who separated the absolute tiniest seeds in this whole exchange. Some of you may have received my hair back, as well, because I would have pulled it out counting those

My children really had a blast with this social experiment. My son is now drawing a diagram of the yard and is going to draw all the plants and where these new ones should go.

Carol, you sent an extra packet of one of your seeds so I am going to pass those along to the first person who can answer this riddle:

I am used as a source of sugar.
I am dual purpose and my leaves and roots are both edible.
I am a source of dye.
I can be pickled.

What am I?

My daughter is typing up everyone's notes on the seeds and to make the packages lighter, I can email or PM that info to you, or include it in the package - your choice.

THANK YOU to everyone who participated. This was really fun and interesting. Thank you for all the time you spent preparing everything for everyone else and time it took. I'm glad this all worked out.

Sugar Beets?

Edited to say: Please surprise me! We collect Okra yearly and have it in abundance. (UNLESS you have an odd color okra)

Go ahead and send me a few surprise seeds as I just got more of the citrus type seeds a few days ago.

Sure send some surprise seeds (or if you run out-send the same one from some one different...never know might be slightly different)
