So I already had two boys (Rocky and Bullwinkle). I wanted to get them some girls, so I ordered 3 pullets with a friend's order. All of mine were DOA
, and grief-stricken me went to TSC later that day and attempted to vent sex their babies. I was only really sure about one of them, but went ahead and took the other two that I thought might be girls (probably a mistake, but I couldn't bear to go home alone). They are about 4 weeks old, and just yesterday the one that I was mostly sure about made some crazy honking noises when she fell off the couch, so I'm right on that one. If I only got 1 girl, and now have two more boys for a total of four, she and I are in trouble. :\ I'm thinking I shouldn't kick myself too hard until at least 6 weeks, because the other could still turn out to be girls too, right?
The thing that's making me rush it a little is that I saw an ad for 2 blue swedish that are already laying, so definitely girls. If I'm wrong about even 1 of my babies, I'm thinking I should grab these grown up girls, right? Seems like it's rare to find someone that wants rid of girls and not boys. And they wouldn't be too big for a mallard drake to have fun with, right? If anything, maybe they'd be better able to withstand a drake at this time of year?
Man, I wish this wasn't so complicated. Wish we could just neuter them and they'd all get along, lol.
