The kids got a PS3 last Christmas (yes, we have WAY too many game systems... we have a gamecube, xbox, PS3 - that replaced the worn out PS2 - that replaced the worn out PS1
, and Wii in this house.) But anyway, the reason I'm so glad my parents gave the kids (and us!
) the Wii is because it is nearly impossible to find PS3 games suitable for a 7 year old little girl. She and my 10 yo ds got Little Big Planet when it came out, but other than that, my dd didn't really have anything to play on PS3. Now she has her very own Littlest Pet Shops game for the Wii, in addition to being able to play Wii Play, Sports, Fit, and the two Mario games they have for it. IMO, PS3 is geared more toward teens/adults (especially males), and Wii is more family friendly. KWIM?
Oh, and we rarely buy new games for the PS3. The kids usually trade their games at Gamestop.
