So I have to cut down my flock a bit... too many pet roosters and in order to find good homes for my roosters, I sell them with their girls

I think my Red Cochin Bantams are going away this week...
And my Silver Spangled Hamburg rooster...

Lucky me, I find great homes for them <3
I'm suppose to find homes for my Golden Campines, but I don't want to

I just don't have enough space (I want to raise purebreds) to keep them all!

Time to build more coops!

With 20 pet roosters, some have to go

So we can get the breeds we're really interested in! lol
Plus, 20 roosters like to tease one another in the wee light of morning lol

How do you decide to keep and let go of? Is it always this hard?

WOW! 20 roosters. Sorry you have to let some go. We have to downsize all the time because DD likes to incubate and get new chicks from the feed store, and a we have a broody hen and some gotta go. We usually start with the meanest. Then the least handsomest. Then the ones without names. And then we count to see if we have room for new ones. No, it is not easy but it is necessary if we want to rotate our flock. In your position you want to go with a certain breed. Good luck.
BTW, you will need to buy a box or two of Kleenex.

LOL - the meanest, the least handsomest! I let go a rooster with his brother - they were the nicest, but I just couldn't keep them

I had him following me around the yard before I bundled him up and let him go to his new home

My poor baby!!!

I usually sell my favorite birds (which I have no need for breed wise) to the best homes I find first

Much rather them a good home than get rid of them last and them stuck with a bad home... or food

I'll MISS my Blue Laced Red Wyandottes the most this time! What will I do without my porch-pooping, next-to-the-door-crowing bachelors????!!!! :'(
