Hello, it has been mentioned I have not introduced myself.
My name is Patti also known a s6-4-57. this is my birthdate. no joke. back to home made butter.my husband and I finally found our forever home. Small town, Ok. I love it. legally you do not have to possess a drivers license. the whole town is zoned AG. surprise! I can have chickens, the man next door has 12 cats he is very responsible they are all male, they are all fixed. Plus he and his wife are attorney's.I am not too worried about the cats. not around chickens anyway. I want ducks and geese to help me out.back to home made butter my mother had tried for two days off and on to make butter in the jar butterchurn. she would stop and put it in the fridge every time.

I have made homemade butter and hard hand churn but works well in Kitchenaid mixer 20-30 min max for butter and buttermilk. Do you use heavy cream or double cream?

back to my Mama. she never raised a girl stupid and she had 4.the butter she kept putting in the fridge was stopping it from forming butter. when I got older I learned. that was the hard way. but you gotta do what you gotta do. switch back to my want of chickens, Cant get an incubator, can't get chicks, but I can get everything except an automatic turner and make an incubator. eggs fresh sell for extra large brown eggs 3.00 a dozen so for about 23.00 I can try to start my chicken home. just need to start on the coop and yard. now you know homemade butter. can't afford it. but you find a way to get it. someone said hers tasted funny with not enough salt in it. my mothers was sweet. the baking butter. but you must be used either un iodized salt or sea or kosher salt because the iodine kind will taint it or like cheese makes a bad bacteria
