You have been awfully nice to these people. I really wondered why you didn't SSS but I think you made the wisest decision when you called AC and that would probably be your best choice in the future if you don't have to shoot first to save your birds. By calling AC you have proof of the problem, you give the dog an opportunity for a better home and you hit the neighbor where it obviously hurt.

As for building a fence to be a good neighbor.....I don't think so. You don't need a fence, they do!
