yes, treat the chicks like you do after you get them in the mail. brooder, nice and toasty. water & feed.

It doesnt sound like you added any water so opening the top shouldn't have been a big deal..

You might chuck a couple of clean sponges with hot water in to the bator and see if it helps the little buggers hatch.

I guess sometimes even a blind squirrel finds a nut because even though I did everything wrong, I somehow got 5 babies. Amazing, the power of the will to live, I guess. Next time I promise to do better, honest!
