Wow, I'm suprised so many husbands are so "helpful"!
Mine would be VERY afraid to touch anything having to do with the incubators or chickens. The only spontaneous thing he feels qualified to do or make decisions on is IF the chicken waterers need refilling or cleaning

Still waiting... this might be a sleepless night, since I need to keep a constant eye on the temperature and humidity.

Husbands are so funny when they "help"! Mine did somthing funny trying to help. We (I say we but really it was me with the bad back and all!) just replaced the carpet with vinyl tile that looks like wood. Yeah it's cheap, but we have two small children and our new house is less than a year old and the carpet was demolished. the tile will serve it's perpouse until the kids get older and we have a little more money to replace it with real wood floors. Any way, I had worked really hard on that floor. He did removes SOME of the carpet and tack strips but I had done the rest and laid the entire new floor. Like I said with bad back and all! Well I was one tile short. No biggie the home improvement store sold in singles as well. So I had planned to go pick up the single tile while I was out being that I had physical therapy that day. Well I got a call from him. No remember this is vinyl and it can and does show imperfctions in the subfloor. I had done the best I could, but in some parts you can only do so much. And since this floor is temparary, I figure no big deal. So this is what I hear from him. "You need to gat another tile." I ask "why". "Well I was saw one of the tiles you could see a little bump where a nail is in the sub floor. So I figured I would just peel it up since the glue isn't set yet and hammer it down more. I broke the tile." *sigh* Men!

You should buy Sulmet online or something, just so you have it on hand if anything ever happens. that's bizarre to have to have a prescription! they sell it in all of the feed stores here in the US.

hopefully you caught it in time

I give up.

When I woke up this morning, the temp in the water wiggler was at 109 and the humidity was at 50%.

No more homemade incubator for me, either. These fluctuations are ridiculous. I am buying the R-Com 20 today.

YIKES! 109!! How in the world it get that high?

(sorry about your little ones)

I have NO idea; when I went to bed after midnight it was 99! Bizarrely enough, a few of them are still rocking. Temp and humidity is stable now, and I am not going to leave the incubator's side until this is resolved one way or another. Oh, except to go into town and buy the R-Com 20 from an eBay seller - doing that in a few hours.
