Sleepy chicken

I started free ranging my 2 year old chicken in Northern Cal. It has been very warm. She has been acting slow. Looks like she is sleeping or contemplating in the middle of the day. Is that normal?

Chickens will often snooze during the day or just lay and enjoy the sun. If she is eating and drinking normally, and moving around okay as she forages, I wouldn't worry about it.

When she walks does she seem too slow or wobbly?

How is she sleeping? Is she scrunched up or spread out. If she is scrunched up, eyes closed and feathers ruffled around her neck, probably a disease. Otherwise, she’s getting her tan on.
