I think the episode with the layer hens was a bit more painful to sit through...just my opinion.

They basically show us half of the lives that those chicks would have to endure.

On a side not, I just bought a bag of chick starter taday. On the front it says "always handle baby chicks gently."

Lol it made me think of this video.

I had both my boys watch this video now. The 6 year old makes up sounds and sayings that the baby chicks might be saying. My 9 year old was upset and thought it looked like they were hurting the poor chicks.

These are some pictures from a film on chickens, that included some filming at MM. This is what I remember seeing in the other video, too. The chicks were wheeled around in these trays, not sent through an automated system. There's even a picture of a tray with the shells left from hatching and the person is lifting the chicks into another clean tray.

Anyway, I just thought you'd like to see this.
