UPDATE!

Sooo, this is...interesting. The farm looking after my chickens for me down in Florida sent me some photos today....they are positive that Andy, is in fact, an AUDREY! I am baffled! No crowing, but she can't find the eggs yet....she is going to keep an eye on him/her to see where the eggs are, if there are any....

Now the DNA test said 99.9% male. How could this be wrong? But when I look at other photos on the web of 6 month old Australorp hens, they look identical. Any opinions? This was taken the other day.

TOTALLY stumped! LOL!

Right? Just baffling....maybe he is a late bloomer, I don't know. But no crowing?! I hope she finds an egg!

I have a buff brahma who is giving me fits. Rounded saddle and neck feathers, but had a big red comb at 3 weeks.
Only time will twll, but yours looks ready to lay an egg, lol.

I'd be sending a pic to the lab you used and asking for a refund. No where along the line has the pictures indicated a cockerel, and at 6 months that's a hen with eggs incoming any day now.

I've heard of male chickens molting into what appears to be transgendered plumage, I think it's called an eclipse molt. I wonder if that's what we have going on here.

Do you have other boys? Maybe older/more dominant than him? So he's trying to escape the beatings by pretending to be a girl?

I certainly hope you are right! It's my only brahma, and was so cuddly as a chick!
But when it had a swollen red comb at 3 weeks, I was devastated.

Both of the pictured birds are probably pullets.
I would be asking the lab for a refund, as previously stated. They were probably wrong.
