so i got home and the house was hot since it is 86 degrees after i checked on my hamster who isn't doing that good i remember the eggs!! so i go into the room where i have it and the thermometer reads 104!!!! EEEkk. Not sure how long it was at 104 but i quickly opened it up until the thermometer read 100. I also turned down the heat.

I hope i'm still in the clear with the eggs..... I have 19-20 good eggs so far and 4 bad. I'm thinking of burrying my 4 bad eggs in the garden for fertilizer

get rid of the bad eggs and i think the good ones that got too hot should be okay they may hatch early by a day or two or be fine i had a temp spike to 110 and still got a pretty good hatch about 70%

Just wanted to give an update.
May 28th I candled and saw movement in 19-20 eggs. :) I still have the 4 bad ones. One is iffy because it is porous but I think i have seen movement. I will definitely get rid of them tomorrow.

I am growing very excited for them to hatch...and so is my dog. He wants to keep looking into the incubator as if anything new happened. I have been trying to tell her that there's only eggs... boring eggs. lol.

My turner keeps making a "clicking" sound which is making me anxious but its moving. I wish I tested it out prior to putting eggs in but I didn't think of it. lol.

(I recently put an ad here in "For Sale" section if anyone from Northern NJ or so wants eggs.)

I never get rid of bad eggs or ones that are iffy? I've left my eggs in for 26 days with Duck eggs and never had one explode or smell. I'd hate to discard one that might be ok. I also never candle, but some people do to make room for their staggered hatches, (some also think weighing 3 or 4 times and drawing lines at air cell levels is the way to go). I don't do staggered hatches either, because you'll know doubt have to or want to open the incubator at the wrong time when you may need it closed for others, then you have a spread of chick ages in the brooder.
But then again my incubator hatches (164) at a time, so not really worried about getting more eggs in immediately.
