i said i was done and happy with my runner and silkie hatching... well i bought 7 more silkie chicks.!!! i feel horrible but am SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did, too. I cannot believe I did it. I scrubbed out the brooders 3 weeks ago, tucked the heat lamps into a cupboard, cleaned the dust out of the bathroom, and made plans to go get another 50# of feed this weekend.

But the feed ran out early.... so I made a dash today to my favorite feed store. I knew I'd look into the bins, but with all the stuff done and put away and already being four fowl over my limit, I thought I was safe.

HA!

I now have two more chicks... but they are 2 wks old, so there's a little bit of "headway" in the project.

The darned feed store had bantam Silver Sebrights! And more ducklings, six different breeds! AAAUUUGGGHHH!

So, I bought 50# of grower-finisher feed, some freeze-dried mealworms (SCORE!!), 3 lbs of food-grade DE (another score!), 40# of BOSS (third score), 10# of chick starter and the two oldest chicks in the afore-mentioned bantam bin.

Gosh, I hope they're pullets. Their tail feathers are prominent like most pullet chicks versus cockerels.

so pretty! im getting mine on saturday. they are non vaulted skull silkies but their parents were SO PRETTY! i bought them all! lol these chicks were raised with mommy until now (there like 2 weeks old)

The chick looks like a silver sebright...which are somewhat hard to sex because the cockerals have hen feathering....cute lil one!!!
