Supposedly they were sexed when I picked them up at the hatchery, and are ameracaunas. What do you think?? They are 4weeks.

First "tell" is if it is sold by color. Ameraucana is an APA recognized breed and there are specific accepted colors. If not sold by color, it isn't an Ameraucana.

Second "tell" is "bought at a hatchery". VERY few of the big mail order hatcheries have APA Ameraucana though many sell their EEs as Ameraucana or Araucana (another APA breed - tailess) or under a "false advertising" name of Americana. If you get it at a farm store, HIGHLY unlikely it is an Ameraucana, they use whatever name their lying hatchery uses.

By their price.

Why is it false advertisement to sell them as Americana?
EE is not a breed but has a made up name. Just like hatcheries sell other hybrids with made up names.
Why can't they use the made up name Americana?
Hatcheries were selling "Americana" before Ameraucana were a breed or the term Easter Eggers was coined.
