These are the two Pekin girls we got to replace our previous girl who turned out to be a boy.

They're around 17 weeks old now. The lavender one, Tiny Tornado, was very sick when she came. She had a respiratory disease which the vet treated with antibiotics. Then, as she got better, her comb and wattles started to darken. She looks rather different from Cookie (the white one) now. Please don't tell me she's a boy, she's my favourite chicken and so, so friendly!

This is when they came.

Its most likely a slow developing cockerel due to the illness. Sorry, but a 17 week old pullet isn't likely to have that much comb and wattle growth or bright redness.
Oh no :(
This all developed in the last week or so, as she/he got better. I can't keep roosters at the allotment, but there's no way I'm letting this one go, it's the nicest friendliest bird I've ever seen:(

Here are a few pictures of today. She doesn't seem to have any of the pointy male feathers. In fact, she hardly has any feathers at all, it's mainly fluff. The comb and wattles are getting bigger and redder though...
