The feathers just look frayed for some reason, so I can't really see shiny hackles/saddles, but comb and wattles scream cockerel. I've had bantam Cochins in the past. Here is my lavender hen at a few months older than yours. Her comb never got much larger than this in her entire life.

Thanks for sharing. She looks way more ladylike than ours. What throws me is the feathers really, ours should have some adult feathers by now... don't you think? Maybe she's just a little late with everything because she was so sick.

Yes, if it is a male, it *should* be showing some shiny saddles/hackles, however some do develop later and certain colors make it harder to see as well. Hope it's a very mature girl, but I have my doubts. My bantam Cochin rooster was black so hard to compare since they have that sheen that is so obvious pretty early on.

I'm 80% thinking cockerel. It's a tricky one. Pekin bantams are so fluffy that they don't have such obvious male feathering like some breeds. They don't get a long dramatic tail but the hackle feathers should be starting to grow longer and have pointed ends to each feather. Ditto the sickle/saddle feathers. Have you checked these feathers really close up?

Here are some close up pictures. Still can't see pointy or shiny feathers...

I will wait another couple of weeks and post another update. No crowing or laying yet.
