Has anyone checked out craigslist? Some times you can find good stuff to use for chickens there. Don't blame me if you get carried away.

Debbie, you do know that in a pinch you can use your spare bathtub for a brooder and it works great! Easy cleanup after you are done, etc.! You can hang your heat lamp from the acrylic bar on the back and it is at just the correct height to keep the biddies warm, but not hot!

Tell him to order an incubator instead... then you can get all kinds of eggs from people on here and have the fun of hatching. Plus that will give your other chickies a few weeks to leave the brooder . The incubator is a good investment... many more chickies in your future with your own chickens then

Actually tell your hubby to order from Ideal. Ive heard alot of things about McMurray that werent possitive, and Ive never heard a single bad thing about Ideal.
