Oh!! Yah!!! I have PIPS!!!!! Update Post #7

After 2 disasterous hatches where I ended up with 1 chick, and the next a big fat -0-, I woke up this morning (day 21) to 5 pips (3 Barred Rock & 2 Buff Orp's)and one is zipped about half around!!! I still have 2 Buff Orp's and Barred Rock's that haven't done anything yet. But it is very early on day 21. I am soooooo happy!!!!!

I have one that has removed the whole top of the shell and is just sitting in the egg with her little head hanging over onto the egg next to it. Do I need to worry about the lining drying out to much and it not being able to get out all the way??

I also have 1 more BR pip.

It's probably just taking a break. It's hard work getting that shell open!!! I wouldn't worry, unless the chick looks like it's fluff is drying, and it is still in the shell. Good luck!! And congrats!! My babies are hatching too! They just keep popping out!
