Hi all! That's right Mirime - I think you told me that before

We went fishing last Sunday at Oberlin resevoir (sp??) Too windy there so we went to Wellington and had alot of fun.

I did butcher my own chickens just a couple weeks ago. There aren't too many other options around here. I did find another woman a couple roads over who helped me with the last 7. Fortunately I only had 13.

It wasn't as bad as I thought; the plucking was the worst part. Not sure everyone here wants to read the gory details, so you can check out the meat birds threads or pm me if you want specifics. I'll tell you what we did step by step from a first timer's perspective. I did restrict the feed; just didn't feed them the night before but I did some both ways and I'm not sure it matters all that much if you're careful.

Not familiar with any swaps or shows around here, but I'm looking forward to the Lorain County fair again this year. That's where we got our chicken itch last year. Might even show a couple. I'm picking up some buff orp chicks on Monday - woo hoo!

Susan and Amy (and anyone else I haven't met yet) I am actually a Dublin address, but I live a couple miles from the Route 161/33 exit area. We are getting our chicks from ASE feed and supply in Plain City. It is so cool to "meet" people this way. A get together would be great someday. I have alot to learn.

Okay, sounds like a plan then! Should we post a new topic so we can get some more central Buckeyes in on the fun? Whatever you guys think will be fine with me. I would also be willing to host a party. Don't have a pool, but we have a big backyard, patio and screened-in porch.

Aliena, if we have one at your house, please don't expect us over-50ish ladies to don a swimsuit! LOL That would not be pretty from this chick!
