I am excited to say I got my blue copper Marans rooster yesterday, also have eggs 12 eggs in the bator so crossing my fingers I do this right!

would anyone want to do another swap meet in Mount orab like we did in the fall sometime in the middle or late April?

Hello! I have 2 buff silkies, 1 hen, 1 roo; 1 white silkie roo, and 1 black show girl roo (silkie crossed w/nakedneck).

I bought them off of blessedchick back in sept. They've been in my hoop house and pen all winter. My plan was to have a separate building that we have on another property moved here to house them, but that hasn't happened yet and it may be a while before that happens and it will get to hot for them in there as it gets warmer. They are adorable! So calm. But I think I will let them go until I can get better housing. If you are interested, PM me. I think your daughter took one of the kittens I brought to the swap last sept.

Hi, I'm Northwest of Dayton. I have French Black Copper Marans. I am hatching my Marans and my grandson's Silkie eggs. The Marans can be a challenge but the Silkies have been very easy.

why are the marans a challenge? I use to hatch eggs till my incubator got picky on when it wanted to work right.

I've been mostly hatching out for myself this winter so I have chickies everywhere. Only one SG so far...There are SG eggs in the 'bator at Champion from my pens so it will be fun to see what hatches out!

When I candle the silkies at 10 days, I can see them moving around. The dark eggs all I can see is the air cell. Seems like the silkies pip and couple hours later are running around the incubator. The marans pip and usually don't hatch until the next day.

I will try to get some pics for you this week. I think the silkies are so calm. You should hear their crows, though! Sooo funny!

well I changed my mind. I will not be getting bantys from tsc, ordered bantys EEs and three blue Cochins.added to previous order.only two weeks till they arrive!! so for now I am being swamped with eggs 11/12 most days.
