OHIO TRADERS!!!

That would be great if you get a chance; if not, don't put yourself out. I wonder if they would mail it though? If not, I could pick up once the weather gets better. (I'm a snow-a-phobe LOL.) There's a farm out here by me too that I'm going to check with. I know they sell goats but not sure if they sell milk.

I'm almost certain they will NOT mail it. I do have an uncle in Mentor OtL that I go visit pretty regularly though, and we could meet up. Otherwise, this is a very pretty area and not a bad drive in nice weather, several orchards and u-pick berry farms in the summer, and in our little village, a little local farmer's market every other saturday.

As far as you guys looking at Meyer Hatchery, I plan on driving down to pick up my own chicks. That's an easy drive too!

FYI Middlefield Ohio has an auction/flea market/farmer's market and last I knew they have chicken/egg sales every Monday, pretty early in the morning though... gotta get up with the. *cough* chickens!!! I'm looking for that link now

I have cousins in Mentor and Ravenna so I have an idea of where it's at - about 45 minutes from here on a good day I think. I'll see if I can find it locally first but if not, I'll definitely make a trip out your way!

I drove to Meyer last June to pick up my BO's and it was a gorgeous drive! If I had known it was smack in the middle of Amish country, I would have taken the day off work and shopped first. Instead I left work at 4:30 and drove out there before they closed. I do highly recommend them!

Meyers is also not too far from that one store I've put links up about before, Lehman's. They carry all KINDS of interesting things VERY cool canning jars, old timey grinders, tools, fixtures, non-electric apliances etc. It started as a small hardware that catered to things Amish can use, and grew into a huge place full of GREAT stuff.

They also have soap making items that are very hard to find, the slightly higher prices MORE than make up the cost of shipping anywhere else.

If you get down that way, be sure to leave several hours to wander the aisles and wear comfortable shoes.

I was looking at Meyers website and I am about 70 miles away. Do you know of a link that I can find out about the chicken auction thingy?
