I have to ask how old this bird is. It has the same coloring as my red sex-link cockerels did, but their comb and wattles were much more developed by the time they had that much red in them. I'm not seeing any saddle feathers, and I've seen an occasional hen with a sickle-shaped tail feather...

I'm just hoping with you, cuz I guessed boy right away, but I think that head looks girlie...

Edited to add a pic of my 12wk old red sex-links. See how their heads looked? This is why I wonder about yours...

Are there any crosses that don't sex-link a bird that might throw a pullet with that coloring? I've only ever seen it on a male, but now I'm wondering...

I really do not know how old this bird is. Pretty birds jossanne. I bought him/her about three weeks ago and the red on the neck is getting slightly redder. The guy that I bought him from had a bunch of other white birds and alot of RIR's running around so since I know nothing about genetics I figured that he was a cross between these. I picked him because of the coloring - he was the only one running around like him.
Thanks, the1much,I'm glad to hear that he will continue to watch over my baby chickies when I let them out.
