My uncle gave me two duck eggs from his friend's private pond. He told my uncle they were Pekin eggs. I think one is Muscovy and the other dunno. My niece and nephew wanted the ducks so I hatched them. Have any clues? Neither are very old but, the first duck is large even without wings developed yet.

There is another post where I asked for help during the hatching of the Muscovy looking duck. It had hatched halfway and was hung in the shell. There are some photos of it as a day old.

The first is an appleyard and the other is a scovy cross. I would say a boy scovy cross by the size of body in relation to the head.

Thank you all very much. I know very little about ducks. My brother and I had some domesticated mallards when young that is all.

Appleyard

Scovie or cross.-Sterile probably. Has large claws and blue eyes. (My nephew's pet)

Let me know what you think?

The 2nd one his caruncles have really started growing. He can fly and perches on our garden fence.

Thanks Wifezilla Goat_Walker. I haven't had ducks since I was a wee kid. They are very cool to watch and a little friendlier than the chickens..even the little mallards.

So is he a Scovy or a Mule Cross Duck? I ask because the man will give me a female if I can catch her. He's about 3 months old in the photo today. He'll still be a pet regardless though because he's friendly and the niece and nephew love him because he catches food in midair. It's one of those "Should I put out the effort to catch the female?" She is extremely wild and the pond is rather large.

I'll hold off if he is not Scovy.
