Here's bird #3. I think the bumble foot is even worse on this one. If I didn't just drive 3 hours round trip and spend 75.00 on these birds I'd cull them and put them out of there misery.

Wow...$75 for those chickens? The previous owners should have paid you 75 clams for all of your troubles. Sheesh. Did you get a chance to have a hard look at them before you headed off with them?

I'm glad they're in your care now... trim those beaks and toenails, and continue with the treatment for the mites/bumblefoot. They are looking rather malnourished, but after a couple of months in your care they should do well.

No they started stuffing them in boxes before ai got a good look. She told me one had a sore foot and that was an extra freebee. Funny I had asked if she'd take less and she said no that they are really nice birds. LOL I do feel bad for her since she just had a mastectomy so I know she's been sick but this has been going on for a while.

Can you just trim the beaks with dog nail clippers? I've never done it.

Oh my god those poor babys, that is horible, very cureible but horible.
the firts baby is dirt build up and be careful pulling that off, soak her feet in warm water and then rub off gentaly , that is so attach it can make her bleed., I am going to say it, who ever you got them from does not care for them, that is poor health poor takeing care of. I am sorry.
I am glad you got them and that you are takeing care of them, poor babys.

also what could help for scaly leg is 2 of these, vet rx, and superior 70 bay rum, if you use 1 or the other not both, and then cover in vasaline.
we use these as a preventitve against scaly leg mites. we had gotten a hen about a year and half ago, and she had that and we used these 2 and they were gone.
we used 1 one day and the other another day.

you can use toe nail clippers, and or very fine sand paper works.
