I put vetrx under there wings and used mineral oil and vicks vapor rub on there legs. I soaked and scrubbed there legs but wasn't sure if I should cut the stuff off there feet. It's not dirt. Almost like growths or warts is the only way I can describe it. I'm told they have bumble foot too. Not sure how to get rid of that. What's a good wormer I can use for them?

the warts is actully from dirt build up and or wet lands. being in wet aerea for far to long.
actully hubby did say a while back that his father used to use vicks on the birds legs.

Should I cut them off? Also do I need to cut the feet open and try to drain puss?

no dont cut them off, just keep them clean and dry.
there is great thread on here about the bubble foot.
do you see a dark spot on her foot? other than the warts.

let me go find that thread , it has step by step on how to do it.

I don't think there are any dark spots. I confronted the woman and now she says I mean cause she's sick so I guess it makes it ok to neglect them. Of course her husband was there and he wasn't sick. Not sure why he couldn't have taken care of them. I'm sure this didn't happen overnight.

Link didn't work for me.

yea i know i tried it it wont work, i am trying to find it.
if it is bubble foot, there would be a dark round spot somewhere most likely n the bottom, or wherever the bubble is, and that would be your area to cut open and pull out the yellow mass.

oh and if you think they are in pain, you can give them bayer baby asprin half of one a day.

oh no way did that happen over night or week. that is so upsetting how someone can sell birds like that and then say they are good looking birds. what a fruad.

She even said the one started limping this winter but she had no idea why.

Scaly mites and fur mites. Take a magnifying glass and look for a tiny skin colored TINY mite on the skin and eggs glued to the feather right near the skin.
Bathing her may make it worse as you are removing the natural oil that keep them at bay.
Dust her with seven dust and spray her feet with WD40. Seven dust her living area and repete every 10 days for a month. For sure isolate her and
I would treat everyone who is in contact with her.

Well the chicken neglect is a bad thing.... but lets remember that we don't know what it is like to walk a mile in this person's shoes.... We don't know the inner workings of her household...Yes those feet look aweful, but let's give the person the benefit of the doubt... She is probably worried about her own life.... (it happens)....She is probably like 90 percent of the ppl out there... I am so glad you were able to share this with all of us.... Good luck on taking care of those babies.... It sounds like you have some great help on here. Sending you healing vibes!!!!
