OK, Help what is this?? Pic heavy ***Update one is sick, nope dead***

The warts are probably Fowl Pox for which there is no cure. Keep her seperate once the pox runs its course that bird will never have it again but it will run thru your entire flock so confine her.
Pox will also be on the fleshy parts of the race and head so not sure but it is a scaly wart like leason.

It's never okay for someone to neglect beings in their care. If life makes it impossible to do it right - and that surely can and does happen - then someone should be found who can take over and ensure the well being of those needing care. These birds have been declining for quite some time and should have been put in better care long ago; it's heartbreaking.

Thank you for what has essentially turned into a rescue mission.

A few thoughts to add to those above. Superb nutrition right now will help healing. If you have or can get Avia Charge 2000 (can order on line) and put a little in everyone's water daily, this will help. It lasts a good long time and I use at less than 1/2 the recommended strength so that water still is palatable to my feathered friends.

Bagbalm is another product that can be good to apply to legs and feet. It's very soothing and should take care of the mite problem. I have watched ahen's legs and feet completely regenerate under the tutilage of that stuff! It also does not have adown side that I know of -

If you sense that these gals are in pain, and may need al ittle relief so they can be inspired to eat and drink well, you can try a bit of aspirin for a couple days - five 325mg aspirins (no substitutes) crushed in one gallon of water (or 1 baby aspirin per cup of water, if you are making smaller batches) - change out at least once daily.

Sunflower seeds and other healthy treats may bolster their spirits and help them adjust to their new surroundings.

Thank you for your kind efforts and keep us posted.

I put vetrx under there wings and used mineral oil and vicks vapor rub on there legs. I soaked and scrubbed there legs but wasn't sure if I should cut the stuff off there feet. It's not dirt. Almost like growths or warts is the only way I can describe it. I'm told they have bumble foot too. Not sure how to get rid of that. What's a good wormer I can use for them?

The "growth" or "warts" on their feet IS bumblefoot, and needs to be carefully cut out, cleaned thoroughly, and then treated with an antibacterial and covered. Again, there is plenty of reading and pics about how to excise the growths and treat the wounds.

As far as I can tell, there is no evidence of pox. This is just bumblefoot, and birds with feathered legs and toes are more prone to it.

oh yea bagbalm, i herd of useung that.

also whant to add that Black Sunflower seeds contane a great weight gain oil also, so that would be great for the birds.

and you can also put cayanne pepper in there food, it helps with worms (home remedy thing). everyday.

Speckledhen wrote this on another thread, "Soak it, clean the surface and the xacto with alcohol, wrap a towel around her middle so she can't flap her wings and just go around the edge of the plug with the xacto, then use tweezers to carefully pull the scab and underlying attached stuff out, soak her foot again with epsom salts or watered down iodine/betadine "tea" water, dry the foot, pack with triple antibiotic ointment, gauze pad over that, wrap with Vetwrap/stretch gauze (not tight, though), going between the toes and ending up around the ankle. Or you can use strips of sweatshirt material about 3/4"wide and at the ankle, wrap with first aid tape. Keep her out of the wet, maybe in a dog kennel, for three days or so, remove and replace the bandage. Do that every three days or so till it seems well."

This is the best procedure and treatment that I can quickly find. Good luck.

Ok, I have BOSS. So I'll give them some of that. I gave them scrambled eggs last night. Anything else I can give them to boost them up some. I have a vitamin and electrolyte poweder I can put in there water.

I'm pretty sure they don't have fowl pox.

Ugh!! I don't really see any scabs. So I'm not sure what to cut. How often should I soak and reapply the stuff for scaley leg mites?
