OK, Help what is this?? Pic heavy ***Update one is sick, nope dead***

We use Ivermectin (for cattle/swine-get at TSC) liquid to worm our chickens. A couple drops on the skin at the back of the neck will take care of all kinds of worms AND scaly leg mites, and lice/ticks. Repeat in 3 weeks. We went to a poultry seminar at MSU and this is what they recommended for parasites. This seems to be much simpler than greasing up the legs every day or so. A bottle of Ivermectin lasts a long time.

You really just need to keep an eye on and one application of any oil should soufacate scale mites. You should see improvment tommorow. Soaking is not nessassary. I also would not cut anything.

Ivermectin on the neck or in the water and repete in 10 days then I would worm regularly every 3 mo. in summer in Florida.

scaly leg mites. Mix up some seven dust with some vasceline, and really rub it into the legs and feet. This will suffocate the mites and the petroleum jelly will help the legs/feet feel better.

The legs do look a little better today. I'm home with a sick kid so I just made them, lettuce. cucumber, tomato, boiled egg, shredded cheese and BOSS salad. They where very excited about it. I'll take the 2 worst ones out tonight and get a really good look at the legs. I was thinking soaking on the 2 that look like they have bumble too and see if I can get some of the crud off them.

Do you have to toss the eggs? If so for how long?

another question. Is the injectable Ivermectin? I know you don't inject it but is that the kind?

I am so glad folks are helping you save these chickens as all I can think of is

One of them doesn't look good this morning. I seperated her since the other's seem to be picking on her. She's the one with the long beak, seemed skinny and missing lots of feathers. Her comb was also very pale and deflated. I hope I didn't cause this.

What did you try so far for meds ?
keep her seperated from all others.
does she have any dark spots on her crown, wattles? like breakouts (wet pox), check down her throat and mouth and see if you see any spots would be yellow or whitish.

oh teh feather loss, you checked for lice and mites right.
